Hello all! If you are reading this, then you are interested in VCPI becoming your new home for veterinary care. Here’s a little information about me.
I am a native of Colorado. In high school, I was an avid athlete playing volleyball, basketball, and soccer. I also loved the piano and started playing at the age of five. For as long as I can remember, I have aspired to be a veterinarian. My animal care career started in high school. I worked as a kennel “kid” at our family veterinarian. Even though my role was small, I learned firsthand the importance the client places on feeling confident and comfortable with their pet care provider.
I attended Colorado State University (CSU) in Fort Collins studying biology and zoology. During college, I worked at Lambspun of Colorado, a fiber arts gallery. While working there, it was a necessity to acquire the skills of knitting, spinning, weaving and crocheting, but I also learned and saw firsthand how important it is to manage a business. Those three years provided me the confidence and determination to become a veterinarian and a business owner. Upon graduation from CSU, I applied and was accepted at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. I graduated in May 2003 with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and returned to Colorado. To enhance my entrepreneurial knowledge, I decided to continue school and graduated with a Master of Business Administration degree (MBA) from the University of Colorado at Denver.
My doctor career started soon after my return to Colorado as an emergency and critical care veterinarian on the overnight shifts for a large Castle Rock practice. Since I was the only veterinarian present at night I learned a lot of practical experience quickly. I worked my way onto the day shift as a general practitioner. After five years of practicing medicine there, I advanced in my career by becoming part owner of a practice in Castle Pines. I was a general practitioner as well as the primary manager of the multi-doctor practice for the next six years.
I moved to Parker in August 2014 and love it. I am calling my new home Veterinary Center of Parker, Inc. aka VCPI.
The final tidbit about me is my family. I married my wonderful husband in 2007. We have a charming and beautiful six-year-old daughter and, of course, the furry family members are Black Diamond, Jack, Chloe, and Everett (all cats); Bucky (dog); Elsa (hamster); and Zoey (fish). I have a passion for photography, crafts, nutrition, and CrossFit.
I look forward to meeting you and am excited to be a part of a dynamic team that offers compassionate care for your beloved furry or scaled family members!
P.S. We work as a team; you rely on my staff and me, the doctor, to prevent and heal, and I rely on you to tell me their story. We hope to gain your trust and confidence as your veterinary care provider to love and protect your pet.
Dr. Amanda Cormier, DVM
Dr. Cormier's Bio
I grew up in Massachusetts and have wanted to be a veterinarian for as long as I can remember. After school, you could find me walking dogs at our local shelter, working at the barn to pay for horseback riding lessons, and shadowing veterinarians. As an avid skier and outdoor enthusiast, I came to Colorado, where I got my Bachelor of Arts in biology from Colorado College. I then received my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Minnesota. However, the mountains were calling so I made my way back to Colorado, and I am thrilled to be working at the Veterinary Center of Parker, Inc.
When I’m not working, I love to spend time with my cat Lila and turtle Flip, and I am hoping to add a dog into the mix soon. I also love reading, crocheting, skiing, hiking, and rock climbing.
I can’t wait to meet you and your furry friends!
Hi! My name is Alice Parker. I am from Charleston, South Carolina and moved to Colorado in 2015. After graduating from the Bel-Rea Institute as a certified veterinary technician, I joined the fantastic team at the Veterinary Center of Parker, Inc. I live in east Denver with my roommate, my French Bulldog Beans, and our cats Butters, Phoebe, and Phineas. In my free moments, I enjoy going to concerts, exploring the mountains, and spending time with friends. I am so happy to be a part of the VCPI team and look forward to meeting you and your pets!
Certified Veterinary Technician
My name is Stevie, and I am from southern California. My husband and I moved to Colorado in 2012. I started my career in veterinary medicine in 2007. I have worked in small animal and exotic practices, as well as some time in emergency hospitals throughout my career. I have a strong interest in anesthesia and dentistry and hope to someday specialize in anesthesia and analgesia.
I have two Border Collies, Haylie and Tilly, and a cat named Pretty Girl. They have a human brother that they tolerate most of the time. I enjoy spending as much time outdoors as I can, going camping, hiking, dirt bike riding, and taking the dogs out. I, of course, love the days that I get to sit on my couch and fall into a show hole! I am so excited to be a part of the Veterinary Center of Parker, Inc. family, I look forward to meeting you and your pets!
My name is Jade, and I have lived in Colorado my whole life. I have always had a passion for animals, especially the scaly and slimy friends. My earliest memory was playing down at the pond with the toads. After years of having a wide variety of experiences with animals, I knew becoming a certified veterinary technician was the next step in my life and decided to attend Bel-Rea. The Veterinary Center of Parker, Inc. has furthered my education on how to help animals, and I couldn’t have asked for a better place.
My passions are taking my sweet girl Revy (poodle/American Staffordshire terrier) out on hikes and playing fetch. I have many geckos, frogs, and lizards that keep me busy as well! I hope you become a part of the VCPI family and hope to see you soon!
Aloha! My name is Lesley Perry. I am a native Hawaiian, born and raised on the island of Oahu. Though I miss the beautiful sandy beaches and lush green mountains of Hawaii, I have happily called Colorado my home since 2007. I am a graduate of the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a BA degree in zoology. I have worked in the veterinary field as a veterinary technician/assistant since 2005. My experience in the veterinary field has been with both general practice clinics as well as emergency hospitals. The hours that I have spent communicating with clients and helping to treat their pets have taught me the importance of compassion, empathy, strength, knowledge, and trust, all of which I strive to bring to each individual case.
When I’m not working, I enjoy simple pleasures, such as taking my dogs on long walks/hikes, going on bike rides, and relaxing in front of a movie. I share my life with my loving husband Chad, crazy anxious American Cocker Spaniel named Bosco, a handsome German Shepherd named Max, and sneaky Maine Coon/Tabby mix named Atticus.
My name is JC Kaufman, and I was born and raised in Colorado. I grew up in Denver, then moved to Castle Rock in fourth grade. I grew up playing baseball, basketball, and soccer but decided to pursue club soccer competitively with the Men’s 1986 Olympic developmental program. I graduated from Highlands Ranch high school in 2004, then went on to play 2.5 years of collegiate Div. II soccer for Cal State Chico in northern California. I earned my bachelor’s degree with a double major in psychology/sociology from the University of Colorado at Denver in 2011. After graduation, I began volunteering/working at a local vet clinic, where I found my love and passion for animals. I have three dogs—Sydney (9.5-year-old cairn terrier), Koda (six-year-old shepherd/husky mix), Haley (nine-year-old shepherd/Labrador mix)—as well as two cats at home, all of which I love spending my free time with, taking them for hikes, walks, camping, etc. I also enjoy traveling, going to the gym, hanging out with friends/family, and anything outdoors. I also still continue to play competitive soccer for the Denver Kickers and a few other leagues during the week to stay active and busy. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family here at the Veterinary Center of Parker, Inc.!
Hello! My name is Shanyn, and I am proud to be a Veterinary assistant with VCPI! I recently spent 10 years working in a 9-1-1 center but am now thrilled to be doing what I have always wanted to do, which is working with animals and their people. Growing up, I always had animals surrounding me, and I wanted to become a veterinarian. While attending college, I had two amazing children and chose to focus on raising them while working at the 9-1-1 center. My kids are now 17 and 14, and I have come full circle and am back attending school to receive my veterinary technician certification. When I’m not at work loving on your amazing furry family members, I am at home working to grow our farm and ranch in Strasburg alongside my wonderful husband. We grow our own produce and have critters that range from goats and llamas to dogs, turkeys, ducks, rabbits, lizards, hedgehogs, and chickens! You could say that animals truly are my life, and I LOVE IT! I look forward to seeing you and your own wonderful pets at VCPI!
Hello! My name is Hunter Hays. I was born and raised in Colorado and can’t imagine living anywhere else. I am originally from Westminster but moved to Arvada in 2010 to play football and run track at Ralston Valley High School. When I wasn’t playing sports, I was spending my time hanging with friends and playing alternative/punk music in a “basement band.” In 2015, I started attending Colorado State University to further my education in zoology, where I also had the opportunity to shadow with an exotic animal veterinarian and truly found my passion. I haven’t looked back since.
I currently live with my dad, stepmom, and the best little guy in the world, our French Bulldog Melvin (but we like to call him Smellvin). I love to spend my free time relaxing at home with them and going to concerts with friends. Though my failed band days are behind me, I still frequently play the guitar and attempt to sing and have recently started playing the piano! I am incredibly lucky to be a part of the Veterinary Center of Parker, Inc. family and look forward to every day I get to spend with all these amazing people and animals. I can’t wait to meet you and your furry companions!
CLIENT CARE REPRESENTATIVES
I’m fairly new to the Veterinary Center family but feel I have found a new home. I had worked for 12 years previously at a clinic in Centennial and before that worked with a mobile veterinarian in Franktown. I grew up in northeastern Ohio, moved to Washington D.C. with United Airlines and met my husband there. He was originally from Montana and wanted to move west, so we settled on Denver. We have lived in Douglas County since 1978. Living on a bit of acreage, we’ve had horses, dogs, cats, birds, bunnies, rats, and reptiles. Thanks to one of my now-grown daughters, we got involved with raising guide dog pups through 4-H with Guide Dogs for the Blind in 1990, and I’ve been doing it ever since. Once our children left home, I was still hooked on the process and am now on puppy number 28 but have switched organizations to Guiding Eyes for the Blind in New York. We get the pups at about eight to 10 weeks old and keep them until they are 16 to 18 months old. It’s my job to teach them basic obedience skills, good house manners, and socialize them to just about anything they might encounter in the world with a blind partner. It’s always rewarding to see the light bulb come on as they mature, and every dog teaches me something new.
When I’m not training a pup or working, I enjoy my four grandchildren when they visit, reading when I can, and spoiling my two forever dogs, Zorba and Mufasa (I didn’t name them), who were released from the guide dog program for health issues. Living on five acres requires a lot of outside maintenance time, which I love also.
I am looking forward to meeting the pets and people who come to the Veterinary Center of Parker, Inc. for the loving, supportive, and expert care we are able to provide. I feel the team I have joined is dedicated to giving each pet and owner the benefit of experience and compassion, and I am eager to participate in the process.

Hi, I’m Brooke! I’ve been in Colorado for the better part of 20 years. I love animals, and I’m so excited to be a part of the VCPI family. In my spare time, I enjoy running my small online clothing/art business, raising my one-year-old Cavalier King Charles/Maltese puppy Noodle, and staying involved in the community by doing charity work. I’m very passionate about music, cooking, and travel. I love meeting new people, and I take pride in making connections for others as well. I’m a lover of coffee, wine, and local Colorado craft beers. In the past five years, I’ve gotten a lot more involved in my kitchen, and I pride myself on feeding friends and family when they visit. I enjoy staying busy and learning and exploring beautiful Colorado.
I look forward to meeting you and your pets here at VCPI!
Hi there! I’m Kaleigh, and I am a Colorado native. I have been an animal lover for as long as I can remember. My compassion and empathy toward animals is the reason I chose to enter into the veterinary field. Right now, I am currently in school to pursue a career in Radiologic Sciences, but I plan to stay with veterinary medicine moving forward. Someday, my dream is to open an animal rescue for senior pets who need a second chance at life! I am beyond thrilled to be joining the Veterinary Center of Parker, Inc. team! Each day, I love meeting our new patients and continuing to grow bonds with our current patients. My favorite part about VCPI is our group of loving and dedicated staff members.
During my free time, I enjoy going hiking, jet-skiing, fishing, or riding my dirt bike! In the summertime, I spend a lot of time at Bandimere Speedway watching the drag races with my boyfriend and wishing I was a professional NHRA driver!! I also love to travel and sightsee, so you’ll find me on a road trip with my camera and ready to capture the moment. Thank you for reading a little bit about me, and I am so excited to meet you and your furry family!
Hi, my name is Amy Rathbun. I was born outside of Chicago and moved here to Colorado when I was still very young and have loved it ever since! I have always had a love for animals and knew from a very young age that working with them was the right career for me. I attended the Bel-Rea Institute, where I completed my schooling in March 2007 with an Associate of Applied Science degree in animal technology and from there went on to get my state certification in June 2007. I have had the pleasure of working in small and large animal clinics, a specialty clinic specializing in neurology, and even enjoyed a brief stint in the pet insurance industry. I am happy to now call the Veterinary Center of Parker, Inc. my home!
I have my own pets, which include a Bichon Friese named Ava (also known as “The Diva”) and a Quarter Horse named Shanti. In my free time, you will likely find me outdoors hiking, horseback riding, camping, enjoying all Colorado has to offer, and, of course, spending time with my “fur babies.”
My true passion is working with animals and their families, and I look forward to meeting you and your pets!
My name is Ayshei and I have lived in this beautiful state for three years. I joined the Veterinary Center of Parker, Inc. family in 2017 and have enjoyed every minute of it. I love being part of a company that cares for their patients as if they were their own pets. When I am not working, I spend my time with my wonderful fiancé and two pups! I love animals and delicious foods, and I’m obsessed with Netflix’s “Chef’s Table.” I am looking forward to meeting you and your family!
Hi! My name is Heather Allman. Ever since I was a little girl, I have loved animals and dreamt of working with them in one way or another. That dream came true when I became a certified veterinary technician. I have been a CVT since 2005 and have worked in research, small animal, nonprofit, and as a practice manager for a large general practice clinic. Since becoming certified, I obtained my associate’s degree in business and my bachelor’s degree in marketing. I love the business side of the veterinary world and have loved working as a marketing director for several years. I have lived in Colorado all my life and love being outdoors enjoying all it has to offer. In my spare time, you will find me crafting, reading a book, watching a movie, or going for a hike. I love spending time with my amazing son Hunter and my pup Paisley. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family!
