Hi! My name is Elaine. I was born and raised in Wisconsin. I have earned two college degrees over the years…one in Graphic Design and one in Art and Physical Education. Right after college, I married my high school sweetheart. We have two grown daughters and an 8-year-old grandson. We have moved numerous times over the past 30 years but when we had an opportunity to come to Colorado this past December, we jumped at it.
My life has always revolved around art, sports, music, and animals. I grew up with dogs and I always found myself bringing home injured critters. My family has spent the last 30 years taking in all the unwanted and homeless dogs that crossed our path. For a while, we were up to 18! I do believe we were called the crazy dog people more than once! Sadly, we are now down to the “Senior Final Four” in our pack; my best friend, Gracie Lou, a 14-year-old Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepard mix and my three 12-year-old Bichon Frise, Libby, Gigi and Simon. We also have a love for West Highland White Terriers. We spent years breeding and raising this fun, intelligent breed. We also spent time breeding and raising Quarter Horses for our barrel racing girls.
Our love of dogs led me to become trained in grooming and us to owning a boarding/grooming facility in Texas. After selling the kennel, I owned a popular mobile grooming business. When I’m not taking care of my pets and my family, I love to spend time decorating and refurbishing old things. When I first brought my pets into VCPI in January, I knew immediately that I wanted to be a part of this special caring and compassionate group of people. I am enjoying being a part of the front desk client care group at VCPI and look forward to getting to know all of you and your very special family members.
